What. A. Day…..Falcon Lake sets new “clicker” record.
There it is…….I have caught 100+ fish before in a day, but it was an estimate. Today was no estimate. We caught fish everyway possible today. Our best bite for the first 6 hours of the day was baby brush hogs doodle socked in Retama. Kenny was relentless in the timber and bushes. He would dip that brush hog 2, 3, or 4 times into the same target before he would get bit at times. You remember Kenny? Think back to October and my incredible honey hole. Remember?…..No? Well, here is a reminder.
Fast forward to today…….we had between 21 and 24 on the clicker (don’t remember exact number) heading to our last stop. At one point we had 44 fish on 49 casts. (plus minus) This rock pile had more fish on it than I have ever seen on any lake…..anywhere. At 3:30 we were still literally catching fish on every single cast. We were at 65.
I told Kenny that we were going to go for 100 and around 5 o’clock we hit the century mark. Here are the two best that came off the rock pile.
Those two were also our best for the day as well. We had about an 18 lb best 5 bag. To say Kenny was pumped up would be the understatement of the century. What. A. Day.
