Ronnie and Austin go Walrus hunting on Falcon Lake
Today could of been big……real big. We still had a dang good day with a 7.94, 6.62, and a 5 pounder boated…..we boated several 1-3 lbers as well. We dang near had the Falcon slam too. (white bass, catfish, goo, black bass……the only thing missing was the gar, lol) The main weapon today was the 6xd in chart/blue back color. With that said late in the day I had a straight up beast come unglued on me while using a mag fluke on the back of a heavy c-rig. I didn’t have this fish on long at all, but had it on long enough to know she was big. The last cast of the day and yes I am serious the last cast of the day Austin chunked out a squarebill and had the fight of the day on. In typical crankbait heartbreak fashion she came unbuttoned. I wanted that one to find her way to the net…..bad. I have this father/son duo for one more day and it looks as though we will have a big wind to contend with. Sure was nice to run the lake today, but we will be limited tomorrow.
