After a one fish day it sure was nice to get some nibbles and boat a few nice fish. Quinn has a new personal best that just missed 7 lbs and we did weight it and for the life of me I can’t remember the exact number…..6.74 sounds right. Was a dang nice fish and the first boated c-rig fish that I have had in an awful long time.
We spent most of the day in the thick stuff though and I got lucky and ran the spinnerbait by the fish below.
That fish had the 10 lb frame, but didn’t have the gut. I didn’t weigh her, but she would of been an easy 8 lber. Reuben also got into the mix today with a 5 lber of his own.
The Mighty Quinn also had a nice 4 lb chunk to add to our ledger as well.
We gut hooked a small bass today and I was not able to perform successful surgery on it. I decided to head over to a couple of my co-workers and drop it off.
Look at the size of the crappie in that basket……HUGE.
I go out of my way to be nice to my fellow fishermen from Mexico. They are some of the hardest working folks you will ever meet. I will often give em water, Gatorade, or a cold beer. They are always appreciative and you never know when you may have to call on them to bail ya out of trouble over there. These fellas tracked me down later in the day to give me a spinnerbait that they had found in their net……..they didn’t have to do that, but they did……gracias hombres.
