oooooops that’s Purple Rain.
Here is Bruce’s purple worm…….hahahaha
Bruce had it going on……even rocking the purple sinker.
Fishing sucked, but what else is new? I had a blast with these two gentlemen though. I love taking father/son duos like this. Reminds me of my ole man and I…….memories of Big O, Stick Marsh, Toho, Choke and Falcon that will last a lifetime. Back to todays action. We started out with 9 fish in the first 3 hours. Things were rocking and we had two big fish break offs as well. The break-off bug is in my boat right now and he’s mean and nasty and has been biting my @ZZ a lot of late.
Then the Falcon GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRind set in. Bruce put our last fish in the boat towards the end of the day that pushed our tally to 10.
Remember when I wrote about the importance of citrus shad crankbaits? You can slide that to the side for now. The number one lure on rocks right now is a Texas rigged Zoom Plum Ole Monster on a 1/4 to 1/2 oz LEAD sinker, yes LEAD and it has nothing to do with cost either, trust me. You can not move the bait slow enough. I heard of a 25 fish day in the knee-deep water…..spinnerbaits and small trigged flukes were the weapons for these fellas. Like I said in an earlier blog entry, people are catching fish. Not many folks mind you, but timing is everything. James from FLT and Gary Harlin are spending the next three days at Sugar. James has been taunting me with texts……..ugh. Hey dad BRING your passport with ya!!!!!!!
